Multi-Purpose Reflow Soldering Systems
Conduction Heating Technology
Conduction reflow has long been the industry standard with over 20 years leadership in solder reflow of hybrid circuits. The same key advantages apply to SMT reflow of printed circuit boards, both rigid and flex, single and double. Because the process is visible, the equipment is very simple to profile. As heat is transferred by conduction rather than radiation, shadowing and preferential absorption effects cannot occur. Components stay in place - no tombstoning - indeed parts align themselves due to surface tension. Since time above solder melt point is effectively minimized, components never see more temperature than the solder melt temperature, and this makes for very high yields and long term circuit integrity. No chemicals are required and the equipment has the lowest operating cost.
Falcon Systems
Falcon systems consist of variable number of heating and cooling stages, each individually controlled with digital display, so that accurate and flexible control of the temperature profile is possible. Equipment may be operating manually or from a PC. Accessories include inert gas hood, on and off loaders and software. The machines use a pusher bar conveyor or walking beam to transport the work being processed through each stage. Operation may be continuous or in a time mode where the work may be halted on a heated platen for a set period. Platens are constructed of cast iron bases with embedded heating elements and ground, polished and hard anodized aluminum top surfaces. This insures even heat distribution and efficient and repeatable heat transfer. Actual working temperatures can be accurately determined by placing a thermocouple probe on the platen surface. The machines are capable of continuous operation to 420C (and higher for special applications) and are well suited for a range of non-soldering applications including drying thick film inks, curing epoxy and conductive epoxy coating, lid sealing, drying PCB solder masks and high temperature eutectic die attach.

Overview
Don't let the small size of the Falcon 5/C fool you. This full-featured Conduction+Convection table top machine produces big results, and gives you exceptional value for your reflow dollar. Our patented design for balanced heating and cooling means low cost operations on production runs of substrates up to 5" by 5.75", and the 5/C's 420C maximum heat will handle fluxless gold tin reflow, singulated ball reflow of BGA's, fixtured double-sided boards, large microwave components, and various substrate materials. With conductive heating from below, convection heating from above, and precise temperature calibration and atmospheric purity, you get total control of your reflow work.
You can work right-to-left or left-to-right on this semi-automatic system, so fitting the 5/C into your production line is easy. The 5/C's seven zones include a cooled loading platform, four Conduction+Convection heat zones, a top and bottom liquid-cooled offload platform. Independent set point controls for each zone offer exceptional profile flexibility and consistent, precise temperature control. Our sweeperbar transport includes a dwell mode for timed delay of movement through any zone.
